Hello,

My name is J.C. Lorenz and I'm honored to be elected Grand Knight of St. Joan of Arc Knights of Columbus Council #15168 2023-2024. My wife and I have been parishioners of SJA church since we moved to Lisle in 2009, we have a daughter and a son in Lisle Elementary and Lisle Jr. High.  I became a knight in 2008 due to the influence and example of my father, Roy Lorenz and became a charter member of St. Joan's Council #15168 in 2009.

Since joining the Knights, I have met a large diverse group of men who share the same belief in Faith, Family and Community. I consider these men more than good friends. I consider them my Brothers. These Catholic Gentlemen are involved in all aspects of church life. They are ushers, lecturers, church council members and are involved in most activities at the church.

Our council was chartered in 2009 thanks to the support of our pastor, and Chaplain, Fr. Gabriel Baltes, O.S.B., a Fourth Degree Knight, and all of our past Grand Knights. We are an active council dedicated to serving our Parish and community.

As Knights, we have vowed to be defenders of our families, our faith and our country. “We are the right hand of the church,” but as Fr. Gabe likes to say, we work quietly behind the scenes & disappear without looking for praise. The Knights of Columbus and their service to the church and community are as important now as they were at the inception of the Order in 1881 by our founder, Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney.

Programs we focus on include ProLife, Family, Culture of Life, Community, the Domestic Church, Youth, and Vocations. We provide numerous opportunities to volunteer, and you can participate as much, or as little as you want, throughout the year.

The Knights are also an insurance company, providing Life, Disability, Long Term Care Insurance programs as well as Retirement Annuities designed for fellow Knights. The K of C Insurance Company holds the highest financial ratings in the insurance industry and was again named by Ethisphere as a World’s Most Ethical Companies Honoree in 2017.

We have a Council meeting once a month at St. Joan of Arc which consists of Praying the Rosary, enjoying a home cooked meal, followed by a one hour council meeting to discuss our recent and upcoming volunteer and social activities. Consult our calendar and various links in the drop-down list to the right of this message to see which activities might interest you.

If you are a practicing Catholic, at least 18 years of age, and are searching for an opportunity to put your time, treasure, and talents to use in our Parish and community, please consider joining our council.

If you have any questions, please call me or any one of our officers. Our contact information is also posted on our website.

Vivat Jesus!

Grand Knight
